“I scoured the world for a charter vessel suitable as a large capacity function vessel to cruise and offer luxury dining on Sydney Harbour. While Vagabond Spirit in Japan was the perfect boat, the crankshaft on the port Deutz engine was shot and needed repair.

After researching the situation I decided to replace both port and starboard engines with a pair of Yanmar 6KYM-ETE purpose built marine diesel engines. The cost to supply and fit both engines was less than the cost of repairing the damaged engine.

With all the sales, technical and logistic support coming from the Power Equipment team in Australia, my engines were fitted in Nagasaki Japan and all 100 tonnes of Vagabond Spirit motored back into it's home port of Sydney Harbour, a trip of some 510hrs of engine operation.

The Yanmar 6KYM-ETE engines performed faultlessly then and have continued to do so ever since.
